I am a total bibliophile! Or in laments terms…a complete BOOKWORM.
In the past I used fiction as a crutch ( A borderline obsession) to run away from the realities of my life.
From a very young age, reading and recreating new worlds in mind, became my chosen mode of escape. My head was quite literally always up in the clouds. Made up characters, elaborate story lines and plots not only sparked my creative prowess but became my happy place. As a result, my ability to acquire knowledge and think outside of my very stifling box was harnessed. However, now through a different lens I have learnt to harness this God given gift as a tool to educate myself as well as empower other individuals from the knowledge gained.
PS. Francine Rivers was the first author to introduce me to biblical fiction and now I am HOOKED to this genre. I not only get to learn about the bible through fictional possibilities but also delve into the wonderful stories of history and faith through the lens of other believers.
If you are a historical fiction fan like me, make sure you grab yourself a copy of one of her incredible books, they are sure to bolster your faith and alter your reality…in a good way!
