Imperfect Individual, Loved By a Perfect Creator!

Hi there, Karabo here. Most people know me as a faith based motivational speaker. I am passionate about sharing messages of hope and encouragement across various platforms. I host a podcast on YouTube, called Brokenness Meets Grace, and have a personal blog called Invaluable Grace. Both these platforms are used to openly talk about dealing with challenges that most people can relate to. It hasn’t been an easy journey, however, there are two things I know with utmost certainty; first, is that I am a flawed imperfect individual, and second, is that even in my imperfect nature, I am irrevocably loved by a perfect Creator. Through these platforms, I can celebrate the love of Christ, by sharing about my personal journey with Him.

I grew up afflicted with a debilitating mental illness for all my childhood and most of my adult life. I wrestled in silence with, severe depression, anxiety and self-image issues that consumed my life to the point of insanity. Immersing myself in fiction became my haven, offering me a reprieve from the chaos in mind. Growing up in a broken home and witnessing the physical and emotional abuse my mother was subjected to, was the catalyst to my fractured mind.

From a very young age, reading and recreating new worlds in mind, became my chosen mode of escape. My head was quite literally always up in the clouds. Made up characters, elaborate story lines and plots not only sparked my creative prowess but became my happy place. As a result, my ability to acquire knowledge and think outside of my very stifling box was harnessed. After years of frustration, deceit and bitter resentment, Jesus Christ proved to be my Ultimate Happy Place. He is a Selfless Savior, a Gracious God, Generous and Merciful in His love for me, the Perfect Friend and the most Skilled Creator. His Grace continues to be my only hope.

I found peace and healing when I surrendered my brokenness to Him, and my life has not been the same ever since. Millions of people all over the world, battle with mental illness and the mind-numbing effects associated with it. I want to use this Blog to share my story, by using my journey as a symbol of hope to those who can relate.
